Turboprop aircrafts such as Fokker 50 is, by its relatively low fuel consumption and quick turn around on the ground, well adapted for regional services in comparison with conventional jets. Turboprop aircraft also fly at lower altitudes than jets and therefore don’t contribute emissions of nitrogen oxides in the height of the decomposition of ozone in the stratosphere.
